Christ Our Hope
BRIEF
Christ Our Hope is a community rooted in the Great Tradition of the Church, seeking to know Jesus more through worship, study, and shared life.
The visual identity for Christ Our Hope is built around carrying ancient truth into a modern context, using historic Christian symbols and biblical art as a visual language that connects the church’s present mission to the faith handed down through generations. Rather than treating these references as decoration, the design system uses them as a foundation, drawing from the deep artistic and symbolic tradition of the Church and translating it through clean typography, restrained layouts, and flexible contemporary forms. Shaped by Christ Our Hope’s streams of Anglican life, the system is designed to feel historic but not outdated, sacred but not distant, and expressive without being overly ornate.

The Chi Rho (☧) is one of the oldest Christian symbols, or Christograms, created by superimposing the first two capital letters—chi (X) and rho (P)—of the Greek word for Christ, ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ (Christos). It’s often used as a symbol of Jesus’s resurrection and victory.
Surrounding the Chi Rho is the Rwandan sun, a symbol of light, renewal, and hope. The sun is also a shared motif between Rwanda and South Dakota, reflecting the global and local relationships that shape our church’s identity. Together, these elements express the light of Christ and the hope we share in him.
